It seems to me that posts in the DB's which are always critical of Askville and predict it's collapse are made by the same people over and over again. They treat Askville as if it's their own private klatch. Which is okay, but why the constant complaints? Why does everything have to be perfect...and bland...like eating cake at a PTA meeting. Or hanging out at your Church's singles club
It seems to me, that rarely a day goes by without a DB predicting the end of Askville. And they're all the same people...a clique of bantering, whining people who forget that they do what they do only because Askville exists.
Trite conversations are okay...jokes are okay...but what is not okay is that they curse the very instrument that permits them to carry on. They whine about vulgar language and porn. Well, there's porn and vulgar language on every forum. In fact the porn and vulgar language DB's are popular among these people. It gives them material to complain about. It feed their triviality.<< less

shipment of oil valued at $100-million - with a crew of 25. For all the people who say/think the U.S. should mind its business, and terrorists will go away, who's going to stop this nonsense? Or is the world going to wait until a fully loaded Passenger Ship is hijacked and sunk? Wasn't the U.S. Navy originally formed in the early 1800's to specifically stop piracy?<< less

I have yet to find a good turkey gravy recipe. It turns out too thin, too thick, or not enough flavor. I tried the roux method, boiled giblets and veggies, and just adding flour to drippings.

You know the type. They "conveniently" show up when it's your dinner time, over and over again. Or they appear in THEIR backyard while you barbecue in yours. My mother used to have a neighbor who would come outside in her backyard DAILY to get some of what my mother cooked that evening. It got so, my mother would feel GUILTY if she didn't have something. How did YOU stop these "grubbers"? These are not poor people, by any means.<< less

came down to one of my favorite sweaters. It was suggested that it was time to part with the sweater, but I'm just not ready, yet. I've taken very good care of it - so it's not faded, out of shape - nothing like that, I think my husband is just tired of seeing it. This from a man that has a t-shirt that I'm not really sure how it's held together!
What item will you not part with, willingly? What is your "go to" piece?<< less
